“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger, something better, pushing right back."       -Albert Camus

Through years working through her own recovery of an eating disorder and mental illness, Tori has gained a deep understanding of the healing process which has led her to a philosophy of providing person-centered and empathetic support.

Tori has experience as a yoga teacher, peer specialist, and is now finishing her master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.

Tori is in her final semester of her MA in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is  completing her master’s thesis on the therapeutic relationship between dietitians and individuals with eating disorders.  Within in her education Tori has gained skills on clinical dietetics, counseling techniques, food service, and management; she also has gained a deeper understanding of the personal, local, national, and global impacts of nutrition and health.

Prior to her dietetics program, Tori worked as peer specialist and peer specialist supervisor in Madison.   In 2018, she became a certified peer specialist and eating disorder  recovery coach through EDIT

TM. In her time as a peer specialist Tori grew in her skills and understanding in communication, person-centered care, and building therapeutic rapport, which led to her movement into a leadership position managing two peer support programs and supervising 15 peer specialists.   She presented at the 2021 Wisconsin Peer Conference on the topic of “Weight Stigma and the Mental Health Connection”.  This time greatly influenced Tori in wanting to provide nutrition counseling for those who have mental illness.

Tori also led a free trauma-informed chair yoga group as peer specialist, as during her own recovery process, Tori worked with a yoga therapist and found value in the art and science of yoga which led her getting her 200-hour yoga teacher certification, as well as a 90-hour children yoga certification.  Additional yoga trainings Tori has participated in are Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy , yoga therapy for eating disorder treatment, trauma informed yoga, and yoga for all bodies.

Tori’s vast experiences have led her to providing non-judgmental support for all; she believes that there are many paths for healing and strives to help individuals find their own unique and beautiful way.

Currently, Tori can provide nutrition knowledge and skill building, and nutrition coaching as well as EDIT (Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy) recovery coaching (all under the supervision of Karyn Moehring)
